Warming up before you go out and play golf is always a good idea. Kirk Jones of The Golf Institute of Technology explains a few simple exercises on this episode of Golf Smarter Tips. For instance, try swinging your club with your left hand only. The strength of your hand, wrist and forearm will improve and you will be able to feel your arm swing move your body turn — as it always should. If your body turn is too fast, you risk not hitting the ball at all.
Kirk has a new Golf School. This may be the most golf effective and cost effective program you’ll find anywhere. You’ve heard what Kirk has to say on the podcast, sign up now to get your lessons face to face.

Michael of Illinois went beyond the call of duty and sent in an audio file of his question on this episode of Golf Smarter Tips. He wanted to know if changing his grip to affect golf ball flight is a good thing to do. Changing your grip from swing to swing actually has a profound effect on which way your golf ball will travel, but as Kirk Jones of The Golf Institute of Technology explains, there is a good way and a bad way to go about it.

To get a better “handle” on your short game, working on your core may be the answer, as Terry Koehler, president of Eidolon Golf and blogger at TheWedgeGuy.com suggests in this episode of Golf Smarter Tips. Terry explains that in order to have complete control over where your club face strikes the ball, you must have connectedness between your hands, arms, and chest.
