Would you believe me if I said that it’s now possible to clone your dog? It isn’t easy or cheap but a genetic engineering firm named BioArts has done it successfully and is planning to do it again.

The program’s called “Best Friends Again” and they’re running both a contest and an auction for people who would like to clone their dog. You can enter to win the Golden Clone Giveaway between now and/or register for the Best Friends Again auctions scheduled for early July 2008.

On the Good Dog podcast published today, June 17, 2008, Lou Hawthorne, CEO of BioArts, explains how his company created three perfect clones of his dog Missy. (I played with them and this is no joke.) He describes the science, we talk about the issues, and he gives all the details of the contest and auction.

Here’s a short clip of me and the clones.
